Current WWE Superstar Rusev became the United States Champion, while competing as the “Hero of the Russian Federation”, a wrestler who (in storyline) had relocated to Russia and therefore was fighting for the country of Russia too.
Rusev’s real name is Miroslav Barnyashev and he’s Bulgarian, and after dropping the russian colors, he’s now competing for his real life home country of Bulgaria.
3. Nikita Koloff
NWA/WCW Legend “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff is best remembered for being an evil russian heel during the 80s, right up to the point when Magnum T.A. had that horrible motorcycle accident before NWA Starrcade 1986 and Nikita had to turn babyface to replace Magnum in the main event of the PPV.
Nikita’s real name is Nelson Scott Simpson and despite being billed from the Soviet Union, he’s actually american from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
