This record is held by the winner of the first ever Royal Rumble match, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.
Duggan had a gap of 17 years in between 2 Royal Rumble matches. He entered in 1992 and then he would be involved in another Rumble match in 2009.
7. When The Commentators Were Involved In The Royal Rumble Match
A commentator being involved in both the Rumble match as well as on the announce team has happened only twice till now.
It first happened in 1997 when Jerry “The King” Lawler entered the Royal Rumble match at #22 but was quickly eliminated by Bret Hart. It then happened in 2014, when JBL entered the Rumble for the first time under his John Bradshaw Layfield character but was quickly eliminated by Roman Reigns.
