This is the year in which the Rumble madness began! In 1993, the Royal Rumble match had a stipulation that the winner will headline WrestleMania, as he gets a shot at the WWF World Championship.
This stipulation has stayed with the match ever since and has proved to be a great success for the event.
Yokozuna won the Royal Rumble match in 1993 and went on to defeat Bret Hart at WWF WrestleMania IX to become the WWF Champion, before losing it to Hulk Hogan in an impromptu match at the same event.
