Big Update On Finn Balor’s Possible WrestleMania 33 Opponent, Goldberg Wanted His WCW Name To Be “The Hybrid”, Kurt Angle Says John Cena Will Go Down As The Greatest Of All Time & More

3. Big Update On Finn Balor’s Possible WrestleMania 33 Opponent

As we noted before, WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor is expected to return in early March. Now he’s being advertised for multiple WWE Live Events in March. Below are the dates:

March 10 – Buffalo, NY

March 11 – Toronto

March 26 – White Plains, NY

Balor is expected to compete at WrestleMania 33 and his opponent might be his former NXT rival, Samoa Joe. Original plans for Samoa Joe were for him to face John Cena at WrestleMania 33, but those plans got nixed.

Cena is now expected to be a part of a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 33. None of the top Raw stars are free for a WrestleMania feud with Joe as below are the scheduled WrestleMania feuds for top Raw Stars:

– Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar

– Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker

– Triple H vs. Seth Rollins

– Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens

There have been talks of doing a match between Samoa Joe & Finn Balor, but the result of this match would be a tough decision to make for WWE officials as Joe is scheduled to get a monster heel push (which has already begun as he knocked off “The Guy” Roman Reigns in his Raw debut match and has taken out Seth Rollins), so they have to protect him.

Then looking at Balor, this would be his WrestleMania debut and his second WWE PPV match as “The Demon”, which is another character that WWE is trying to protect.

We’ll keep you updated on Balor’s WrestleMania 33 plans.
