John Cena Bringing Back US Open Challenge, Possible New #1 Contender

John Cena as US Champion

15 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena became a 5 time United States Champion at Night of Champions 2015, when he defeated Seth Rollins.

Cena defended the US Title next night on Raw in a rematch from Night of Champions, which Cena won again. With Rollins getting his official rematch and losing it, Cena is scheduled to move on to other feuds and defend the US Title.

WWE is teasing that John Cena might bring back the US Open Challenge on tomorrow night’s WWE Raw. Below is what they posted:
“One night after reclaiming the United States Championship from Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, John Cena defended his star-spangled prize on Raw, sealing a victory over The Architect with an Attitude Adjustment. Now that Rollins has already used his guaranteed rematch for the prestigious title, will Raw bring the return of Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge? If so, who is bold enough to face The Champ?”

There’s been speculation that John Cena’s next challenger, and the #1 contender for the US Title at Hell in a Cell 2015, might turn out to be Mr. Money in the Bank Sheamus. Sheamus wasn’t booked in any match at Night of Champions 2015 and it would be a bad decision if he isn’t booked in another PPV.
