4. Shinsuke Nakamura Continues His “John Cena” Role

As we saw on the post-WrestleMania 33 edition of SmackDown Live, former two time NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura made his WWE main roster debut.

Since his main roster debut, Nakamura has been competing in the SmackDown Live dark main event (which happens after 205 Live goes off the air) where he has been defeating Dolph Ziggler.

The reason behind this is that WWE officials think Nakamura in the dark main event match can hold the crowd to sit through 205 Live (which struggles in attendance) to see him compete.

This job was previously done by John Cena, who used to compete in the SmackDown Live dark main event. It should be noted that WWE views Nakamura as a top babyface on SmackDown Live and is expected to take Cena’s place on the blue brand (as the 16 time WWE World Champion is on a time off).

Nakamura competed in the SmackDown Live dark main event this week as well and went on to defeat Ziggler.
