3. It’s Been 14 Years Since R-Truth Won The NWA World Heavyweight Championship
It was 14 years ago (well, 14 years and 1 day to be exact) since current WWE Supertsar R-Truth (then known as Ron Killings) won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at NWA-TNA PPV #8.
Ron “The Truth” Killings became the first-ever, and to date only, recognized African-American NWA World Heavyweight Champion in history. Below are the results from that PPV:

– NWA World Title match- Ron “The Truth” Killings def. Ken Shamrock to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
– Dupp Cup Invitational Match: Bo Dupp vs. Ed Ferrera
– First Blood Match: Malice def. Don Harris
– NWA World Title – No. 1 Contenders Match: Jeff Jarrett def. Gran Apolo
– Miss TNA Evening Gown Match: Bruce def. Taylor Vaughn
– NWA TNA X-Division Title: Low Ki def. AJ Styles & Jerry Lynn to become the new NWA TNA X-Division Champion.
Ron Killings lost the title to Jeff Jarrett at NWA TNA PPV #21 on November 20, 2002. Jeff Jarrett would go on to successfully retain the title againt Ron Killings in a rematch at NWA TNA PPV #22.
