20. AJ Styles Compares Himself Leaving NJPW To WWE With Scott Hall & Kevin Nash Leaving WWF For WCW
During a recent edition of “Table For 3” podcast, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and AJ Styles talked about the Bullet Club, the “too sweet” hand sign & more.

Nash talked about how X-Pac (a.k.a 1-2-3 Kid) brought the “too sweet” hand sign to The Kliq:

“Kid was in a bar some place in Europe and saw somebody doing it. He said it was the Turkish Wolf or some kind of Turkish mafia. We were already The Kliq. We were getting heat, so we thought we’d do that, so that way we could walk by each other and ‘too sweet’ each other.”

Styles then talked about how Finn Balor & Karl Anderson started using the “too sweet” sign in the Bullet Club:

“To tell you the truth, it was actually Finn Bálor and Karl Anderson who got the thing started. Obviously, big fans of the nWo and for some reason, just threw up the ‘too sweet’. But it was like, ‘dude, they’re going to think we’re trying to be like the nWo.’ But once they started doing it, it just caught on and it was all cool all over again. It wasn’t just something that you did for wrestling. It was something we did.”

Styles then compared his departure from NJPW to Scott Hall and Kevin Nash’s departure from the WWF:

“I can tell you that, you talk about The Kliq, we were definitely guys who enjoyed hanging out together. We’d go out together. We didn’t have to, but we wanted to, like, we enjoyed that. We went through the same thing that you guys are basically talking about right now.

When we left Japan, it was Bálor first and then Anderson, Gallows, and myself all left at the same time, so you guys are talking about something that I’ve lived through myself.”
