The Greatest Celebrity Appearances in Wrestling

6. Andy Kaufman

Famous Comedian Andy Kaufman first offered his services to the World Wrestling Federation, but they didn’t want to use him, so he spoke to CWA Memphis Promoters Jerry Jarrett and was brought in right away.

His 1982 feud against Jerry “The King” Lawler on Memphis Wrestling TV is legendary, plus both appeared on the famous talk show “Late Night with David Letterman”.

5. “L.T.” Lawrence Taylor

Not that many Celebrities have managed to main event a WrestleMania, but L.T. has done so in 1995, when he defeated “The Beast from the East” Bam Bam Bigelow in the last match of WWF WrestleMania XI.

4. “The Worm” Dennis Rodman

While most Celebrities prefer to be Babyfaces, Dennis Rodman not only appeared on WCW TV as a Heel, he even joined the nWo New World Order stable.

Rodman wrestled several pro-wrestling matches, most famously on WCW PPVs: Bash at the Beach 1997 & 1998 and Road Wild 1999.

3. Mr. T

Not only did famous actor Mr. T (“Rocky III”, “The A-Team”) wrestle in the Main Event of the very first WrestleMania in 1985, where he teamed with Hulk Hogan to successfully defeat Paul Orndorff & Roddy Piper, …

Mr. T also fought Roddy Piper in a Boxing Match at WWF WrestleMania 2 in 1986.

In 1994 he had a brief stint in WCW, where he wrestled and defeated the evil Kevin Sullivan.

Just one day before WWE WrestleMania XXX in 2014, Mean Gene Okerlund inducted him into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.

2. Cindy Lauper

Did you ever hear about the so called “Rock’n’Wrestling Era”?

Here’s the sweet lady that was responsible for its success, as she did a lot of cross promotion between Music and the World Wrestling Federation back in the mid-80s.

Her biggest claim to fame was having quite a few WWF Superstars in her music Videos, and accompanying Wendi Richter to her match at WWF WrestleMania 1, where Wendi ended up winning the WWF Women’s Championship.
