• WWE Roster’s Backstage Reaction To Evolution 2

According to Fightful Select, Evolution 2 was met with enthusiastic approval from WWE staff and talent alike. One high-ranking official described it as an overwhelming success, pointing out that the roster was placed in a “position to overdeliver” and they absolutely did. Among the matches that stood out backstage, the Intercontinental Championship and World Title bouts were especially praised, with many insiders calling them highlights of the night.

Behind the scenes, veteran Molly Holly played a key role in producing the showdown between Naomi and Jade Cargill. Naomi’s performance, in particular, was met with massive backstage approval. Her transformation into a top-tier heel has not only impressed fans but also earned her deep respect from coworkers, many of whom view her as one of the most beloved figures in the locker room.

Multiple performers on the card also expressed satisfaction with how things unfolded. While some wished there had been more long-term storytelling in the lead-up to the event, several saw it as an exciting challenge to use social media creatively to fill in the gaps and build hype.

From top to bottom, the night felt like a win for everyone involved. The general feeling backstage was that the energy, execution, and performances were all on point, and if WWE is paying attention to the feedback from within its own walls, this likely won’t be the last time Evolution makes a major return.

• Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam Match Isn’t What You Think

In the main event of last night’s RAW, Bron Breakker went through Penta, LA Knight and Jey Uso in the Gauntlet Match, but lost to CM Punk in the end. Punk will now face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2025. After the match, Breakker and “Big” Bronson Reed attacked Punk and Jey, which led to Roman Reigns making his long-awaited return to save Punk and Jey from Seth Rollins’ men. There was speculation that with Rollins being out of action with an injury, Reigns would end up facing Breakker in a singles match at SummerSlam. However, that’s not the case.

Sean Ross Sapp noted on his RAW Recap show that current plan is for Reigns to team up with Jey to take on Bron and Bronson in a tag team match at SummerSlam. By doing this, WWE can delay the inevitable singles meeting between Reigns and Breakker, possibly for WrestleMania 42.

WWE has officially confirmed the following matches for SummerSlam 2025 so far:

Undisputed WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. King of the Ring Cody Rhodes

World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk

Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY

WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill

– Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria
