• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School World Wrestling Federation Veteran Marty Jannetty celebrates his 60th birthday today.

Marty Jannetty used to be one half of The Rockers for years, but won his only WWF Tag Team Championship with the 1-2-3 Kid in 1994, after he already won the WWF Intercontinental Championship from his former partner “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels in 1993.

Marty wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 to 1994 and from 1995 to 1996. He also had a stint in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1998) and eventually returned for several brief appearances in the now renamed WWE (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2009).

He still wrestles on the independent scene these days, which makes him one of the very few 80s Veterans, who are still active in the ring.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTY JANNETTY!

• Shane McMahon Is Next In Line To Run WWE

With the XFL launching in a few days, Vince McMahon will be taking a step back from his day-to-day duties in the WWE.

With that being said, Tom Colohue is reporting that Shane McMahon is in line to run WWE after Vince, not Triple H:

“It’s worth mentioning though that, to my knowledge, Triple H is not the next in line to take over WWE after Vince McMahon. The next in line is Shane McMahon.

I know people want Triple H, but Shane McMahon is the next in line and that’s one of the reasons he’s been doing production work, for example at the Royal Rumble.

He’s been involved in everything since day one, essentially from his birth into this company. He’s set up the ring, he’s done ref work, he’s been involved in storylines. Shane McMahon knows wrestling, he knows how to be successful.

We’re going to see Shane involved a lot more in the future. He is going to take a lot more of the control, now that Vince is stepping back.”
