Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura.

• During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Mark Henry recalled getting Daniel Bryan aka Bryan Danielson a tryout with WWE back in the day and lying about Bryan’s size to WWE Officials.

Here’s what the World’s Strongest Man said:

“His talent was undeniable, and WWE wanted big people, and I was like, listen, ‘I saw a guy wrestle last night that was good. I don’t give a sh*t what his size is. He’s one of the most entertaining guys I’ve watched’.

I worked with Steve Austin and… I said, ‘This dude (Bryan) is really good’, but then I lied, I said ‘he’s 6’1, about 200 pounds’, but I got him in the door, and he did the rest.

Some people just need a look. He just needed a look. I didn’t help him at all. I just opened the door.”

• Shinsuke Nakamura has faced a challenging year in 2024. After transitioning from New Japan Pro-Wrestling to WWE over 8 years ago, Nakamura has displayed his remarkable talent and skill. However, his performance this year, as reflected in his win-loss record, has not mirrored his capabilities.

Nakamura has competed in 40 matches across WWE programming and live events in 2024. Unfortunately, his record stands at 1-39, translating to a mere 2.5% win rate. His only victory came on the February 12th episode of RAW, where he triumphed over Sami Zayn.

Cody Rhodes has proven to be Nakamura’s toughest adversary this year. The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion has faced Nakamura 20 times in 2024 and emerged victorious in all encounters. Notably, 17 of these matches were off-air, taking place in dark matches or live events. Rhodes also defeated Nakamura in televised matches on RAW.
