• During an interview on the Babyfaces podcast, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes talked about how much NXT wrestler Shawn Spears (fka Tye Dillinger) has helped him.
The American Nightmare also revealed that he regrets not having Spears in the ring with him after he finished the story in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
Here’s what Cody said:
“Shawn Spears, during the Duece, Domino, Cherry rivalry. I had no fundamental experience. I couldn’t tell you a top wrist lock from a double quarter. I had no fundamentals.
They didn’t mind because they were teaching me from the story perspective first. That’s how I would like to teach. Shawn was there to lead me through it. He does not get enough credit, from me, for how special he is.
He is the only person that I regret I didn’t have in the ring after WrestleMania. I saw him that day, we took a picture together, and he was just like he always was. He knew what this day was. He knew it was big.
I wouldn’t be where I’m at without Shawn Spears. He’s a blessing to the business and I’m so glad to see him in NXT.”

• Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay) were scheduled to have a long feud with WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella).
However, the plans got nixed in the end.
Here’s what Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) said during an interview with Ring The Belle:
“All I know is that we were supposed to go into a story apparently from WrestleMania to SummerSlam. That’s all I know. That would have been a dream come true for us. But everything happens for a reason.”
