As AEW gears up for one of its most significant annual events, Double or Nothing, the buzz around a potential major return is electrifying fans and insiders alike. This excitement centers on none other than MJF, one of All Elite Wrestling’s premier stars, who has been absent from the ring since sustaining serious injuries in December.

MJF’s Absence and Recovery

MJF last competed at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event, where he suffered a torn labrum and a hip injury. The severity of these injuries necessitated a hiatus from wrestling, during which MJF reportedly underwent surgery in late April to repair his left shoulder. This procedure was crucial for his recovery and potential return to the ring.

Speculation on Return

Fightful Select has indicated that numerous AEW insiders believe MJF’s return is imminent. While the exact timeline remains uncertain, many expect MJF to make his comeback by June’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view event in New York, if not sooner.

Interestingly, Fightful also noted that there had been no official confirmation regarding MJF’s surgery, and the wrestler himself has maintained silence about his injury status since the Worlds End event.

Contract Status and Future in AEW

MJF’s contract with AEW was initially set to expire in December. However, it has since been extended, securing his place in the promotion for the foreseeable future. This new deal not only extends his tenure but also elevates him to one of the highest earners in AEW.

Despite the extension, MJF has not publicly confirmed the details of his new contract.
