Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Gigi Dolin and Cody Rhodes.

• The WWE NXT roster has been struck by the injury bug once again, this time sidelining Gigi Dolin.

Gigi Dolin rose to prominence as a key member of the Toxic Attraction faction alongside Jacy Jayne and Mandy Rose. The trio achieved considerable success in NXT, with Dolin and Jayne capturing the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Their success even saw them step onto the main roster for SmackDown in 2022, filling in for Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament. Unfortunately, Dolin’s tenure was cut short due to an injury.

Recently, Dolin had been involved in a storyline with Ariana Grace (Santino Marella’s daughter), but this plot was abruptly halted. Fightful previously reported that Dolin was sidelined with a knee injury.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Dolin is suffering from a torn ACL. This significant injury is expected to keep her out of action for 9 to 12 months.

• WWE has ignited an intense feud between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, following Rhodes’ victory over AJ Styles in an “I Quit” match at the Clash At The Castle PLE. Held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, this match marked the beginning of a highly anticipated rivalry.

After the match, Sikoa confronted Rhodes, resulting in a tense staredown. The Bloodline ambushed Rhodes, only for Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to rush in and save the champion.

Since this dramatic encounter, fans have speculated about the timing of the Rhodes vs. Sikoa match. According to the Wrestling Observer, this showdown is slated for SummerSlam 2024 on August 3rd in Cleveland, Ohio, rather than Money In The Bank in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on July 6th.

Rhodes and Sikoa have clashed only once before, in a singles match on the RAW before WrestleMania 39 in March 2023, where Rhodes emerged victorious. It remains uncertain whether Rhodes will defend his Title at Money In The Bank.

Adding to the drama, WWE has emphasized that a loss for Sikoa would mean relinquishing his position as the Head of the Table, raising the stakes for their impending clash.
