Rapper Sexyy Red has been making waves in both the music and professional wrestling worlds, with her recent appearances on NXT television drawing significant attention. However, her surging momentum faced a significant setback due to an arrest just before NXT Battleground 2024.
Sexyy Red was slated to host WWE NXT Battleground, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans. Despite successfully fulfilling her hosting duties at the event, news emerged of her arrest over the weekend.
According to TMZ, a physical altercation occurred on the morning of June 8th at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
The incident involved a confrontation between Red’s entourage and another party. Footage obtained by TMZ shows Red grabbing and waving a stanchion, although she did not physically engage in the fight.

The Port Authority provided a statement to TMZ:
“Still unclear what exactly led up to this brouhaha — but the Port Authority tells TMZ … Sexyy was ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct — while a couple others in the fight got booked on assault charges.
As for the alleged victims … we’re told they went to the hospital for minor injuries.”
At this time, it remains unclear whether WWE was aware of the incident before Sexyy Red’s hosting role at NXT Battleground.
Despite the legal troubles, her presence at the event was well-received, and fans are left wondering how this incident might impact her future appearances in both the music and wrestling industries.
