Tonight’s WWE SmackDown has already aired in Saudi Arabia. In US, it will air at the usual time later tonight. Below are the complete spoilers from tonight’s show.
– Nia Jax def. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair to advance to the Finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament
Jax will now face Lyra Valkyria in the finals tomorrow. Jax told Lyra (who was seated ringside) that she’s going to buzz through her and go on to become champion at SummerSlam.
– Bianca Belair was icing her knee backstage. Tiffany Stratton said better luck next time, loser. Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell then tried to bully Bianca, but Jade Cargill showed up. Candice & Indi retreated.
– LA Knight was supposed to come out on The Grayson Waller Effect, but Carmelo Hayes came out instead. Hayes told Waller and Austin Theory that they should stick together and fight these veterans like Bobby Lashley and Cody Rhodes, who take their spots. Knight came out to a huge pop. Knight said Carmelo needs to stay in his place or he’ll soon learn whose game this is. LA goes to leave the ring, but Carmelo attacks him from behind. LA fights back, but Theory & Waller gang up on LA. This leads to The Street Profits making the save.
– A vignette aired for Blair Davenport’s arrival to SmackDown.
– LA Knight & The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) def. Carmelo Hayes & WWE Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)
Ford pinned Waller to pick up the win.
– WWE Champion Cody Rhodes met Randy Orton backstage and shook his hand. Orton had a serious look on his face and looked at the WWE Title. The American Nightmare then came out to the ring to a big pop. Cody was about to start talking, but United States Champion Logan Paul interrupted. Cody said he thinks Logan still has brass knuckles on him and told the referee to check him, and it’s true. Cody said a lot of people still think Logan is a YouTuber, but he doesn’t think so and believes Logan is a pro-wrestler. However, Cody said Logan will never be on his level until he stops being a part-timer. Cody said he’ll beat Logan so bad that he’ll regret ever calling out the WWE Champion.
– In a backstage interview with Byron Saxton, Randy Orton said he knows The Bloodline plays the numbers game, but he has overcome odds throughout his career and he will make sure that Tama Tonga gets introduced to the 3 most dangerous letters in sports entertainment tonight – RKO.
– Nia Jax met WWE Women’s Champion Bayley backstage and said she’s coming for the Title at SummerSlam after she wins Queen of the Ring tomorrow.
– #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) told The Street Profits backstage that they want the WWE Tag Team Titles.
– WWE Women’s Champion Bayley def. Chelsea Green
Piper Niven brutally assaulted Bayley after the match.
– AJ Styles met SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis backstage. Styles said he was just one second away from defeating Cody Rhodes at Backlash and was again just one second away from defeating Randy Orton in the King of the Ring tournament. Styles requested Aldis to give him one more shot at the WWE Championship, against the winner of Cody vs. Logan match tomorrow night. Aldis said personally, he wants to give AJ this match, but professionally he can’t as a title match has to be earned and that takes time. AJ said he doesn’t have time. Aldis said he’s sorry, but he can’t help AJ with that.
– A vignette aired for Andrade coming to SmackDown. Andrade said he controls his own destiny and he knows what he wants.
– Paul Heyman told Solo Sikoa that they couldn’t bring Tonga Loa to Saudi Arabia as he couldn’t get through customs because of his dangerous past. Heyman said there’s a reason Roman Reigns didn’t bring these new guys in The Bloodline back in the day as they are very dangerous, and questioned why Solo is recruiting them. Solo made it clear again that he is in charge of The Bloodline until Roman comes back.
– A new match got announced for tomorrow’s King & Queen of the Ring countdown show (pre-show): Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
– Randy Orton def. Tama Tonga to advance to the Finals of the King of the Ring tournament
Orton will now face Gunther (who was seated ringside for this match) in the Finals tomorrow night.
Solo Sikoa attacked Orton after the match, which led to Kevin Owens making his return to save Orton by going after Sikoa.
