Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, involving Tony Khan and The Wyatt Sick6.

• During an interview on WGN Radio, AEW President Tony Khan made a bold claim about All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division:

“I think right now across the board everyone thinks this is by far the best wrestling in the history of AEW in the women’s division and I think we have the best women’s wrestling in the world right now.

There’s more competition and more talent in the AEW women’s division than there’s ever been, and more big matches. I think by far 2024 has been the best year of the AEW women’s division.

I give so much of the credit to ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, the World Champion, and Mercedes Mone, the TBS Champion, and a lot of other great wrestlers like Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale.”

• On his podcast, WWF Veteran Jim Cornette discussed the debut of The Wyatt Sick6 faction along with the return of the Uncle Howdy character.

Here’s what Cornette said:

“AEW looks like a goddamn serious production next to this sh*t.

[This is what Tony Khan needed. This is the best thing that happened to Tony since Vince McMahon was forced out.] Yeah, another unforced error. What is this?

If you’re gonna do a horror movie then make a horror movie. But as I mentioned earlier with the Rolling Stones concert, don’t break into Hamlet in the middle because there may be an audience for each but they didn’t come to see the same thing both at the same time.”
