• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the birthday of Old School WWF Legend Gorilla Monsoon (Real name: Robert Marella).
After his career as an active WWWF/WWF Superstar came to an end during the early 80s, Gorilla Monsoon became an announcer and will always be remembered as one of the 2 greatest play-by-play commentators in professional wrestling history, with the other one being “Good Ol’ J.R.” Jim Ross.
In 1994 Monsoon was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame (now known as WWE Hall of Fame) by his colleague & friend Jim Ross.
The last time we saw him on TV was during the ‘WWF WrestleMania XV’ PPV, where he received standing ovations.

• Old School ECW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday
Old School ECW Veteran Mikey Whipwreck (Real name: John Watson) celebrates his birthday today.
Mikey Whipwreck was originally a member of the ring crew in Todd Gordon’s NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling but Mick Foley trained him to become a professional wrestler, who debuted in February 1994.
After the promotion was renamed Extreme Championship Wrestling, Mikey eventually ended up winning the ECW World Heavyweight Championship in 1995.
He joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling for a few months in 1999, but then returned to Paul Heyman’s ECW right away, where he wrestled until the company closed its doors in January 2001.
