Since the fall of WCW in 2001, WWE has reigned as the undisputed leader in professional wrestling. However, this monopoly faced a significant challenge in 2019 when Tony Khan launched All Elite Wrestling.

In a few short years, AEW has made a substantial impact on the industry, hosting spectacular shows and signing some of the top talents in the world. AEW has created a new realm of opportunity for wrestlers seeking to make a name for themselves.

Despite these achievements, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently shared his thoughts on AEW’s potential to compete with WWE.

During a Q&A session on his Patreon page, The Undertaker acknowledged the benefits of competition in the wrestling industry but expressed doubts about whether Tony Khan is the right person to lead the charge against WWE.

Here’s what The Deadman said:

“Hopefully one day, I mean a lot of people don’t think the way I do, but one day, AEW gets their crap together and genuinely creates some competition. That’s probably not a popular take from most WWE insiders but the way I look at it I mean, competition’s only gonna make you better.

I agree with you. I don’t think there is a real true leader in the locker room. And I don’t, I am not sure… I have nothing against the man, but I don’t know that Tony is the guy to run the company.

I mean, his heart’s in a good place and he wants to do something, but I just don’t know if he has the acumen to run a wrestling company against the juggernaut that is WWE. But hey, I could be wrong. There was that one other time I was wrong.

But I hope they get it together and we do have some competition. It’s better for the wrestlers, it’s better for the audience. It’s better for the fans. It’s better for everything.”

The Undertaker’s comments highlight the importance of strong leadership and operational efficiency for AEW to become a genuine rival to WWE.

As AEW continues to grow and evolve, the wrestling world will be watching closely to see if it can fulfill its potential and provide a competitive alternative to WWE.
