Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Will Ospreay and Ricochet.

• AEW International Champion Will Ospreay has sparked excitement with a recent teaser about Ricochet. Ospreay and Ricochet, who created some unforgettable matches together in the 2010s, have maintained mutual respect and admiration over the years.

A few months ago, Ospreay expressed his disappointment with how WWE was utilizing Ricochet, calling him one of the best in the business and lamenting the limited opportunities WWE gave him to showcase his talents. Ospreay’s comments resonated with many fans who felt similarly about Ricochet’s WWE run.

Recently, PWInsider reported that Ricochet has given his notice to WWE, leading to widespread speculation that he might be heading to AEW. This past Monday on RAW, Ricochet was written off television in a dramatic fashion, being thrown into a WWE production truck and through a car windshield by Bron Breakker.

Despite this storyline exit, there was talk backstage about Ricochet possibly making one more WWE appearance to capitalize on the buzz surrounding his departure. WWE later updated fans with a statement on Wednesday, indicating that Ricochet had suffered multiple upper body injuries and would be out of action for an undisclosed period.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Ospreay recently noticed a Ricochet banner and commented on it, calling the name “sh*t”, which fans took as a playful hint towards Ricochet’s potential move to AEW.
