Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.
• AEW is continuing to release talent, with more departures expected soon. Previously, the company would let contracts expire without using talent, but recent cuts include Ricky Starks, Miro, Malakai Black, and Rey Fenix.
According to the Wrestling Observer, AEW won’t be re-signing certain wrestlers whose contracts are expiring. Confirmed names include Abadon, Zak Knight, and Nick Comoroto.
Abadon has been active in ROH but absent from AEW TV, while Comoroto has been recovering from hip surgery since August 2024.
Zak Knight is the brother of Saraya (Paige). He last wrestled on AEW TV in April 2024 and on ROH TV in May 2024.

• WWE has added John Cena to the post-WrestleMania 41 episode of SmackDown on April 25th at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Below are the dates that WWE is advertising Cena for:
March 17 – RAW
March 24 – RAW
March 31 – RAW
April 20 – WrestleMania 41 (Night 2)
April 25 – SmackDown
May 25 – Saturday Night’s Main Event
May 30 – SmackDown
June 13 – SmackDown
June 20 – SmackDown
After these appearances, Cena will have 24 more dates in WWE during his retirement tour.
