• At last night’s NXT Vengeance Day premium live event, WWE aired a promo for the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff media event that will take place this Thursday in Las Vegas.
Booes were heard during this due to The Rock – Cody Rhodes situation. You can watch it below:

Fightful Select reported the following about this situation:
“Throughout the show when The Rock was shown on WrestleMania graphics, the crowd would boo. There were efforts made to cover up this reaction by production.”
As you tell in the above video, WWE tried to keep down the booes as much as possible.
• As seen in the main event segment of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes said he’s coming for Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but not at WrestleMania 40.
The American Nightmare then basically gave his WrestleMania 40 main event spot against Roman to The Rock.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Officials hoped that Cody would become a bigger babyface due to this move, and they were successful at it given the overwhelming support he has received on social media:
“They were expecting Cody Rhodes turning (into) Daniel Bryan (in 2013-2014), yes. They were expecting to make Cody Rhodes a new martyr, and make him a bigger babyface out of that.
Were they expecting people to boo Dwayne? I don’t know, because I’ve asked that one and haven’t gotten a straight answer.”
