Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Logan Paul, Conor McGregor and Penta.

• As noted before, UFC Legend Conor McGregor and WWE Superstar Logan Paul are rumored to have a Boxing Match in India this year, with both of them getting paid $250 million each by the Ambani family as part of the “Visit India” tourism campaign, with the goal to elevate India’s status as a global sports destination.

Speaking on his vlog, Logan addressed the rumors, stating he would be willing to pause his WWE career for the high-profile bout.

“If Conor McGregor wants to fight, we’re running it. It’s an epic fight,” Paul declared, adding that he won’t take any time off from WWE TV if President Nick Khan matches the reported payday.

Paul also called out McGregor’s dependence on UFC’s approval, suggesting, “I think he’s trying to pressure Dana (White) into making it happen. He’s owned by the UFC. He can’t f**king sh*t, let alone fight, without them knowing.”

Paul remains part of WWE’s RAW roster, last competing at SummerSlam 2024 in a loss to LA Knight. Meanwhile, McGregor hasn’t fought since his devastating leg injury against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, and he continues to face legal and personal controversies, including a civil liability ruling for $exual assault in a lawsuit filed by Nikita Hand.

No official moves or fight confirmations have been made, leaving fans to speculate on whether this hypothetical showdown will become reality.

• According to Lucha Libre Online, a number of wrestlers don’t feel comfortable in their roles in AEW. Historically, some of these wrestlers hesitated to consider WWE as a viable alternative due to concerns about being overshadowed in what they perceived as the “monster system” of WWE, or based on limited TV time and opportunities during previous stints with the company.

However, attitudes are reportedly shifting following Penta’s successful WWE debut, which showcased a promising environment for transitioning AEW talent. Wrestlers now see their AEW experience as a valuable credential and a significant bargaining tool for negotiating with WWE.

Two AEW wrestlers have allegedly confirmed they plan to explore free agency in 2025, specifically eyeing WWE as a potential destination. This change in perspective is attributed to the cultural transformation under Triple H’s leadership, which has fostered a more talent-friendly environment and created opportunities for performers transitioning from AEW to WWE.

The report suggests a growing confidence among AEW talent about achieving success in WWE, driven by the new leadership and the visible integration of ex-AEW stars into prominent roles.
