Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.
• During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus revealed that he has signed a new 5-year contract with WWE.
The Celtic Warrior said he plans to wrestle until the wheels fall off:
“I just signed a new 5-year deal. 50… My wife reminds me all the time, 52. Is it 52? (The deal will take me until I’m 52) Listen, I’ll go until the wheels fall off me. I could do it until physically I can’t do it anymore.
I love what I do. And, listen, there’s plenty of time to sit back and read a book and just watch TV. I’ve talked to some talent as well. You meet them all at Mania and everything when they come in, especially the Hall of Fame, but also everybody gets invited to Mania.
You can tell a lot of the talents who just retired too early. If I had to hang up my boots when that stuff happened with my neck (injury), I’d be at peace with it, right? Because you know there’s nothing you could do.
But when some talent that retired before their time, you can tell there’s a bit of regret there.”
Sheamus has been chasing the Intercontinental Championship for a few years now, which is the only title he has not won in his WWE career.
The former WWE Champion is set to take on Ludwig Kaiser on next week’s RAW on Netflix.

• Sheamus recently shared his frustration over WWE’s decision to prevent him from keeping his original theme song, “Written In My Face.”
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus discussed briefly reviving the beloved song during the April 15, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW, only for WWE to quickly replace it again.
Sheamus admitted he misses the theme and acknowledged fan disappointment over its removal, but he expressed a reluctance to keep advocating for its return.
“I do miss that song, though. A lot of people were upset, but I brought it back. You know, I wasn’t allowed to keep it. Maybe—I don’t know, man. You want to go and ask? You go ask. I’m tired of asking,” he said.
Although fans continue to hope for the song’s comeback, Sheamus has made it clear he won’t push for it, focusing instead on his matches and storylines. For now, it seems unlikely the Celtic Warrior’s iconic theme will return.
