• John Cena failed to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match. During the post show, Cena said he’s going to compete in the #1 Contender Elimination Chamber match on March 1, and he plans to main event WrestleMania 41.

Here’s what he said:

“I’m going to the Elimination Chamber to win, and I’m going to main event my final appearance at WrestleMania, and win a 17th Championship, because that’s what’s best for business.”

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE’s plan for Cena to face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41 has been locked in since October 2024:

“Rhodes vs. John Cena, with Cena winning in the Elimination Chamber, was the plan since October for one of the main events with the story of Cena going for the record 17th World Title.”

• At Royal Rumble 2025, Kevin Owens lost to Cody Rhodes in a Ladder Match for the WWE Championship.

Owens has signed a new WWE contract for 5 years, which he teased by tweeting the following:

“If you guys help support my daughter’s Girl Scout troop by buying some cookies, I promise to keep wrestling for at least 4 years, 11 months and 22 days more.”
