• Impact On WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales After Pat McAfee’s “Massive Surprise” Revealed
On last week’s SmackDown, Pat McAfee’s “massive surprise” was that he announced 25% off on tickets for WrestleMania 42 – Night 1, which will be headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Wrestling Observer reported the following about the increase in ticket sales after McAfee’s announcement:
“Since Friday night SmackDown and they announced 25% off for Saturday but no discount for Sunday, there were 1200 tickets sold for Saturday with a discount and with, you know, all those angles and everything like that.
So there were 1400 tickets sold for Sunday. Even though Pat McAfee said don’t buy tickets for Sunday, buy tickets for Saturday. So people see Sunday’s the big show. It’s Roman Reigns and (CM) Punk and I think that’s that.”
As of April 11, WrestleTix reported that 40,610 tickets were sold for Night 1 and 42,769 tickets were sold for Night 2.
• Triple H Is Aware Of A Major Issue Behind The Scenes
According to the Wrestling Observer, Triple H is aware of the widespread unhappiness and negative feedback regarding WWE:
“He cares more than they let on. They try to act like they don’t listen but then they make all these things and changes so much. My impression is that they outwardly, I mean the company directive is to say that you don’t care. That we don’t listen to these people that are negative. And you know what? You go by the numbers.
You can’t listen to people because you could be doing the greatest stuff in the world and people are saying it’s terrible, but if the numbers are saying it’s good, then it’s good.
But does he listen? Is he aware? Yes, he’s aware and he’s certainly aware that they’ve booed him at certain points over the last couple of months.”
• Backstage News On Nikki Bella’s WrestleMania 42 Status After Injury
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella suffered a sprained ankle during The Bella Twins’ match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on SmackDown a few weeks ago. She stated two weeks ago that she expected to be cleared within 7-10 days, but there has been no official update since.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Nikki Bella’s status for WrestleMania 42 remains uncertain, as it is still considered “too close to call” whether she will be cleared in time to compete.
Despite the uncertainty, WWE is still advertising Bella for the Fatal 4-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42.
