• MJF’s New Movie & Busy Schedule Revealed
MJF has packed more into September than most people do in a year.
The AEW star tied the knot on September 5, but instead of heading off on a honeymoon, he went straight back to work. The very next day he showed up in Philadelphia for AEW Collision. From there, he hopped a flight to Winnipeg to begin filming his new movie “Violent Night 2,” which Deadline confirmed.
Because of his film schedule, MJF won’t appear on this week’s Dynamite, but he’ll return to Philadelphia for the September 11 Collision tapings before jetting right back to Winnipeg to continue shooting, according to Fightful Select. After that, he’s off again – this time to Mexico City, where he’s set to main event CMLL’s Anniversary show alongside Mistico.
The whirlwind continues immediately afterward, as MJF heads to Toronto for AEW All Out, where he’s booked to face Mark Briscoe. Once the pay-per-view is over, he’ll make yet another trip back to Winnipeg to resume filming duties.
Violent Night 2 is set to release on December 4, 2026.
• WWE Hall Of Famer Dealing With Health Issues Again
WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was scheduled for multiple upcoming conventions and signing appearances including HorrorHound Weekend in the coming days. However, he has pulled out of them over the last 24 hours.
PWInsider is reporting that Lawler canceled the appearances to focus on some health issues. Details about those issues are unknown yet.
The 75-year-old last appeared on WWE programming on the August 28th, 2023, episode of RAW in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. The legendary commentator parted ways with the company in May 2024.
Lawler recently attended Vince McMahon’s 80th birthday party.
• RAW Star Could Return Soon And Start A Big Feud
Ilja Dragunov has been out of action since he tore his ACL in a match with GUNTHER at a WWE Live Event last year.
PWInsider reported at the end of August that he was close to 100% or already cleared for an in-ring return.
Bodyslam+ is reporting that the former NXT Champion could be back in action soon. The WWE creative team has discussed a feud between him and Rusev as a way to reintroduce him on TV. However, nothing is finalized yet.
Rusev recently defeated Sheamus in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match at Clash In Paris and got a win over Penta on the latest episode of RAW. He has his sights set on the Intercontinental Championship.
In a recent interview with VoxCatch, The Bulgarian Brute said that his main goal in his current WWE run is to help younger wrestlers.
“My main goal was, you know, to show these young kids that they need to take advantage of the opportunity they have to go to show up every day, work hard and strive for more. Because I see a lot of them, they just are complacent. And I’ve been there and I know how they feel. So I wanted to help them.”
• WWE Star Says Matt Riddle Will Never Make It Back To The Major Leagues
Matt Riddle was fired from WWE due to multiple drug test failures and his controversies outside the ring. Since then, Riddle has taken constant shots at WWE, CM Punk, and even went out of his way to make a controversial remark about AJ Lee.
WWE NXT commentator Booker T had the following to say about Riddle on his Hall of Fame podcast:
“I never had any beef with Matt Riddle or anything like that. But I did say I did not think this guy was going to make it in this business, I didn’t think he was going to make it to Heavyweight Championship level, just because of certain things.
I don’t know. I just didn’t think Matt Riddle respected the business enough to make it to the next level. Because when you come in talking about how good somebody is in the ring, opposed to how much money somebody made in the business, and for the business, referring to Goldberg… you are totally on the wrong track.
When you get heat with guys like Brock Lesnar, you’re totally on the wrong track, it’s not a good idea, and you just don’t understand the business more than anything.
You could be on a skyrocket trajectory, and boom, everything just blows up in your face, and you’re working on the indies. All right, never again to make it back to the major leagues.
And I do believe that Matt Riddle is going to be one of those guys that will never, ever make it to that high ever again, just because the guy just, I don’t know, it’s one thing burning bridges, but when you just blow up the damn bridge, that’s another story.
I just don’t think this guy did himself any favors over the weekend, speaking the way he is.”
