• Shawn Michaels Jokes About Earning Royalties From WWE Stars Doing Superkicks

The Superkick is pretty much one of the most overused moves in modern day wrestling.

Back during the Old School days, only Shawn Michaels (and his Tag Team partner Marty Jannetty, when they were known as The Rockers) used it and later in his career, he referred to the move as ‘Sweet Chin Music’.

During a recent interview with Culture State, HBK joked about getting royalties when current WWE Superstars do superkicks.

Here’s what the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer said about getting royalties from others using the Superkick nowadays:

“I’d be doing really okay. I take it as a compliment. I can remember when I first broke into the wrestling business, a lot of old timers said ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.’ That’s certainly the way I take it.

There were people that inspired me. I’ve always been into the romance of this line of work. I’m fortunate and I appreciate the fact that something that I did has had a positive effect on this business.

Would I mind getting a nickel for every time one of those things happened? Of course, I wouldn’t, but I don’t think that’s realistic. I’ll just be flattered from a distance. I’d still be doing okay, wouldn’t I?”
