• WWE Discussing 4 Major NXT Stars For Main Roster Call-Up After WrestleMania 42
WrestleMania 42 is just a week away, and a new chapter will begin in WWE after the Show of Shows. Like every year, several NXT stars are expected to be moved up to the main roster following the biggest event on the calendar.
The Wrestling Observer reports that there has been significant internal talk in NXT about potential post-WrestleMania call-ups, with Ricky Saints, Blake Monroe, Ethan Page and Jacy Jayne all under strong consideration.
Sol Ruca, who is scheduled to face Zaria in a Last Woman Standing match in less than two weeks, also impressed WWE officials following her encounter with Bayley at the final Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025.
Ethan Page is set to face Tony D’Angelo for the NXT Championship at NXT Revenge next week, which could end up being his final match in NXT. Jacy Jayne is also set for a title rematch against NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice, and could be nearing the end of her run on the brand, having already accomplished plenty as a two-time champion.
Ricky Saints has already captured the NXT Championship in the past, leaving him with little to achieve on the developmental brand, while Blake Monroe is also expected to get a Women’s North American Championship opportunity against Tatum Paxley after pinning her on the latest episode of NXT.
• Champion Criticizes WWE Adding Pat McAfee To Cody Rhodes/Randy Orton Feud
Pat McAfee returned to WWE last week and aligned himself with Randy Orton. He claimed he wants to help “save” pro wrestling alongside The Viper, taking shots at Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes’ reign, low ticket sales, and the current style of long matches instead of focusing on larger-than-life stars like Orton.
In an interview with Gabby LaSpisa, WWE Tag Team Champion Damian Priest made it clear he wasn’t a fan of McAfee being added to the feud and revealed that several people in the locker room felt the same way.
“It sucks. Not a fan. (I’m) somebody who knows Pat, get along with him. But for me, it’s not my taste. I don’t think it helps anything. He didn’t need it.
So for me, and I’m sure a lot of people aren’t gonna be happy that I said that, but in the locker room specifically, a lot of us weren’t happy and that’s real. I was asked by some of the younger talent what I thought and I thought it was bull. We’re a PG show, right? But he could come in and throw f-bombs and say whatever he wants.
For me, that’s one of those things that so many other talent, even from one word, could benefit and it’s like wow, now they’re up here. Instead you take somebody who’s not even here all the time and he gets away with saying something like that, who doesn’t even need it. Not gonna lie, it kinda pi$$ed me off.”
