• Following the highly successful WrestleMania 40 premium live event, a new report has shed light on the backstage reaction to the main event of Night 1.

Historic Tag Team Match

On Night 1 of WrestleMania 40, The Rock and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns teamed up to defeat Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in what was billed as “the biggest tag team match in WrestleMania history”. This bout marked The Rock’s return to the ring for the first time since 2016 (and for the first time for a proper match since 2013), adding an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia for fans.

Backstage Ovation

Former Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch spoke with ESPN about the aftermath of the match, revealing that The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins received a standing ovation when they returned backstage. Lynch described the moment:

“Sometimes you come back from a match and you just know that you’ve done something special. And everybody had that feeling.”

Emotional Moments

According to the report, the four superstars exchanged hugs upon reaching the Gorilla position, highlighting the camaraderie and respect among them.

Celebratory Reception

Several prominent WWE figures were present in Gorilla to welcome the victorious team and their opponents. This group included WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Stephanie McMahon, Paul Heyman, William Regal, producer Bobby Roode, Michael Hayes, Bruce Prichard, and The Rock’s daughter, NXT General Manager Ava.

• In 2023, Damian Priest and IYO SKY won the Men’s & Women’s Money In The Bank ladder matches respectively.
