• 3rd AEW Wrestler Injured Within A Week
In the main event of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite before WrestleDream, The Opps defeated La Faccion Ingobernables to retain the World Trios Championship.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Rush, the leader of LFI, suffered a dislocated elbow during the match.
The injury occurred towards the end of the match when Rush tried to get back in the ring. His kneepad got caught on the bottom rope, causing the fall that led to the dislocated elbow. He was seen favoring his left arm right after the spot.
Medical staff checked on him, and he was reportedly able to pop the elbow back into place. Rush then joined his stablemates in the post-match brawl.
Whether he will miss any time in the ring due to the injury is unknown yet.
Aside from Rush, Kota Ibushi suffered a serious injury during last week’s AEW Collision taping, and Queen Aminata also hurt her knee on the same day.

• AEW Star Calls WWE Blocking Andrade’s AEW Run A “Conspiracy”
Andrade was released by WWE over a month ago due to a number of violations of the company’s Wellness Policy. He has made several appearances across different wrestling promotions since then.
Soon after his WWE departure, reports indicated that the former United States Champion was outright released and therefore didn’t have a non-compete clause, but that didn’t turn out to be the case.
After his appearances on the independent circuit and in AEW, WWE reportedly informed Andrade that he can’t work for any other promotion until his non-compete clause expired. The company also made it clear that he would not be paid during the time he was expected to stay at home.
The Wrestling Observer has now shared more details on Andrade’s situation. Their report revealed that new TKO contracts include a clause stating that if a talent is fired for cause or breaches their contract, they face a one-year non-compete. Older contracts had a similar clause as well, but it’s standard now.
In normal cases, when WWE releases talent, the non-compete is just 90 days. But Andrade’s release came after he violated the company’s Wellness Policy, which could mean that he may be forced to honor a one-year non-compete.
On the AEW WrestleDream Media Call, Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated asked Tony Khan about Andrade’s situation. He did not comment on the matter and just said that he has a ton of respect for Andrade and is excited for what is next for him. He also confirmed that El Idolo left AEW on a high note in 2023.
AEW’s Ricochet took to X to call the situation a conspiracy, while plugging The Demand’s win on this week’s Dynamite. He tweeted:
“Everyone is so distracted with this Andrade conspiracy.
That its not clocking to you that #TheDemand stood on business and pinned the Hurt Syndicate on #AEWDynamite. #Ahaa “
The Demand will battle The Hurt Syndicate in a Tornado Trios Match at WrestleDream this Saturday. It will be both factions’ third encounter in a Trios Match, and they are currently tied 1-1.
