Hulk Hogan Died Mid-Secret Project With WWE

Just a day after Hulk Hogan’s sudden passing at the age of 71, a new report has revealed that Netflix was already deep into production on a docuseries chronicling the wrestling legend’s life and career. According to Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni in his Puck News newsletter, Netflix had quietly teamed up with WWE and production company Words + Pictures for the project. The docuseries, directed by Bryan Storkel and produced by Connor Schell, features over 20 hours of newly recorded interviews with Hogan himself – all completed before his death.

“The Hulkster died mid-documentary,” Belloni wrote. “Hulk Hogan, who died today at 71, will be remembered for mainstreaming pro wrestling and bringing down Gawker. He also left behind an unfinished docuseries on his life that Netflix has quietly been working on since last year, per sources.”

The streaming giant has not yet announced a release date for the series.

This isn’t Netflix’s first venture into the world of pro wrestling. The Hogan project follows their docuseries on Vince McMahon and arrives just before the debut of WWE: Untold, scheduled to premiere on July 29.
