Let’s be honest here, Lucha Libre Legend Rey Mysterio wasn’t really used much anymore since 2011.
And there were various reasons for WWE not pushing him anymore, mainly Rey being injured most of the time, and even got suspended for a wellness policy violation.
When he did wrestle between his many injuries, he was mostly put in Tag Team matches, often with fellow mexican wrestler Sin Cara.
After 13 years with the company, Rey Mysterio’s WWE contract expired on February 26 2015 and he returned to Mexico, to wrestle for the AAA promotion.
