• Old School ECW Announcer Celebrates His Birthday
Old School ECW Announcer Joey Styles (Real name: Joseph Bonsignore) celebrates his 50th birthday today.
Joey Styles is well remembered as the famous voice of Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1993 until they closed their doors in early 2001.
Not only was Styles doing both, color commentary & play-by-play commentary on his own, but he was also the host of the weekly TV show “ECW Hardcore TV”, and often also worked as the company’s ring announcer.
From 2005 to 2016, he worked for the WWE, mostly doing backstage jobs like for WWE.com and the WWE App, but he also served as a commentator on WWE’s version of ECW (on ScyFy), as well as the two ECW One Night Stand PPVs.
