As we saw on last night’s WWE Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart introduced Sami Zayn as the challenger for John Cena’s US Open Challenge. After an entertaining match, John Cena picked up the win with a springboard stunner followed by an AA.
Early on in the match, Zayn took a belly to back suplex from Cena and landed awkwardly on his left shoulder. Zayn was checked by a WWE trainer but he went on and finished the match.
WWE.com later announced that Sami Zayn will undergo an MRI tomorrow for a shoulder injury he suffered during his match with John Cena on WWE Raw. There’s no word on what’s his status for NXT Takeover where he faces Kevin Owens for the NXT Title. You can watch the ending of the match below where Cena raised Zayn’s arm and vacated the ring to show appreciation to the young man’s great performance.
