• WWE Discussed A Heel Turn For Top Star Recently
At WrestleMania 39, Gunther will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a Triple Threat Match.
According to Xero News, WWE Officials discussed a heel turn for McIntyre in recent months:
“At one point in recent months, WWE were discussing turning Drew McIntyre heel in 2023.
No word if they are going to turn McIntyre in the near future, could have changed, but they did discuss it.”
McIntyre is an absolute workhorse. Not only did he carry the RAW brand as the WWE Champion during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has also worked while being hurt and ill in recent memory.
Not just that, he had neck issues in January 2022 and returned within a month.
According to PWInsider, McIntyre was extremely ill before a recent episode of SmackDown and originally wasn’t cleared to compete, but eventually was cleared by WWE’s medical team when he arrived to the arena:
“McIntyre, who works all the Live Events, has received a lot of respect for how hard he has worked for the company, even when under the weather or working banged up over the last year. He’s very much a locker room leader in that regard.”

On this day in 1995, we lost Old School WWF Legend Big John Studd at the age of 47 due to liver cancer and Hodgkin’s disease.
Big John Studd wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1982 until 1986 and again from 1988 till 1989.
His biggest accomplishment was winning the second annual Royal Rumble match in 1989, which was not only the first ever 30-man Royal Rumble match, but also the first one that aired LIVE on pay-per-view.
He retired from the sport of professional wrestling later that year, in late 1989.
