• “That Exposes the Business More Than Anything” – CM Punk Takes a Shot at a WWE Storyline
During an interview with Emmanuel Noisette, CM Punk and Rhea Ripley promoted WWE Unreal on Netflix. When asked about fans worrying about exposing the business with this docuseries, Punk replied:
“Dude, one time, they wanted [Rhea Ripley] to be in a relationship with Dominik Mysterio. Who’s going to believe that? Who’s going to believe that? ‘Hey everybody, here’s this Greek Goddess, and she’s with this f**king nerd.’ Come on. Come on.
That exposes the business more than anything we’re going to do on Netflix. Because who’s going to believe that? Dominik Mysterio, that little b*tch.”
• Santino Marella Made History With His Daughter This Week In WWE
On this week’s episode of NXT, TNA’s Director of Authority Santino Marella had his first televised WWE match after 11 years. He faced Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship and lost.
Santino tweeted the following about this match:
“I didn’t get the W, but man did I feel alive. Last night was a little bit of history I believe as well. My daughter opened the NXT show in a dark match, and I closed the show in the main event. We’ve both appeared on NXT TV before, but this time we both wrestled on the same card/night.”
Santino’s daughter is NXT wrestler Arianna Grace.

• Drew McIntyre Delivers Good News
Drew McIntyre, who recently attended a friend’s wedding in the United Kingdom, posted a video to social media from a rural countryside location a few days back, explaining that he was denied boarding on his return flight without his U.S. passport – even though he had his British passport and Global Entry credentials. The gate agent recognized him but still refused to let him board, citing lack of proper U.S. documentation. He also revealed his wife had to return home alone to care for their sick cat while he remained stuck overseas.
Seeking to weave the situation into WWE storyline, McIntyre playfully accused one of his scheduled opponents, Jelly Roll, of orchestrating the travel hiccup through connections, claiming the country star was intimidated by McIntyre’s physical presence on TV. He vowed to make Jelly Roll “pay” once he returns and warned the singer that one day he might “look like one of these cows,” referring to the grazing animals around him.
PWInsider confirmed that McIntyre’s travel problems are not part of any planned storyline and the situation is very real.
In an update, Drew has confirmed that he is back in the U.S. and the match at SummerSlam will happen as scheduled. In the latest video he posted, Drew addressed The Miz, who offered to be his replacement at SummerSlam. Drew mocked Miz and called him “Missionary Mike.”

• Cody Rhodes Says He Felt Disrespected In AEW
During an interview on the Bill Simmons podcast, Cody Rhodes addressed his AEW departure ahead of his WWE Championship rematch against John Cena at SummerSlam 2025:
“There’s clearly bad blood, but there’s also clearly respect and love. In the end, the way I see it is, if I felt disrespected ever at WWE, that’s one thing. That’s a company that was built… that’s the Yankees. That’s the flagship of it all. If I ever felt (at WWE) that I was a number on a sheet, maybe, but feeling disrespected at something I built with my friends. That we built. Feeling disrespected there, I wouldn’t stand for it.
Brandi and I both, I’m so blessed to have her. It was one of those where it was, f**k it. ‘I did way more here than you think, and you’re going to find out the moment I’m out the door.’ I don’t believe in the cold-hearted backstabbing type of revenge. The greatest revenge on Earth is success.
I felt like we were sitting on something wonderful. Something great. A huge, potentially, what I was doing with The American Nightmare, as a bad guy, as a good guy, something in between. We’re sitting on some magic. If I’m not going to do it in the house that I literally, with Matt, Nick, and Kenny built, then buddy, I’m going elsewhere.”
