WWE SummerSlam 2025 – Night 2 took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This was the first two-night SummerSlam in WWE history and the 38th annual edition of SummerSlam.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H kicks off the show and welcomes fans to the biggest SummerSlam in history. HHH said if you thought Night 1 was great, you ain’t seen nothing yet! We are kicking things off with the Women’s World Championship match. Rhea Ripley makes her way out first, followed by IYO SKY and then the Women’s World Champion, Naomi. Naomi’s father performed her entrance LIVE.
After back & forth action, Rhea hit the RipTide on IYO from the second rope and went for the cover, but Naomi rolled up Rhea for the win.

Nick Hogan was shown seated ringside. The Dudley Boyz and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz are also at ringside in honor of the 25th anniversary of the TLC match. Up next is the 6-team Tables, Ladders & Chairs match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Candice LeRae, B-Fab and Nikki Cross got involved in the match. At one point, Candice climbed the ladder to unhook the titles, but she got pushed off the ladder and went through a ladder outside the ring!

Nathan Frazer went for the classic Edge spear off the top of the ladder, but Tommaso Ciampa countered.

Ciampa and Johnny Gargano went through two tables. Uncle Howdy got involved too. In the end, Joe Gacy unhooked the titles.

Up next is the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match. Becky Lynch debuted a new theme song. During the match, Lyra Valkyria accidentally pushed Becky into a cameraman & immediately apologized. Maybe she remembered the Jon Moxley lawsuit! Becky handcuffed Lyra with zip ties during the match. However, Lyra kept fighting back. Lyra managed to free her hands eventually.
Becky was about to attack Lyra with a crowbar, but Bayley appeared and stopped her. Becky gave the crowbar to Bayley and told her to attack Lyra, but Bayley couldn’t. Becky was looking to attack Bayley, but Bayley saw her coming and beat her up. Lyra put Becky through a table.
Bayley accidentally punched Lyra. Becky hit the Manhandle Slam on Lyra for the win.

Lyra can no longer challenge for the Women’s Intercontinental Title as long as Becky is champion.
Up next is the Steel Cage match between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu for the United States Championship. During the match, MFT faction showed up, but Jimmy Uso came out as well. Jimmy superkicked Tonga Loa and JC Mateo, but Talla Tonga took out Jimmy.
Solo hit the Samoa Spike on Jacob, but Jacob kicked out. Talla handcuffed Jacob to the top of the steel cage, but Fatu ripped them off and stopped Solo from escaping the cage. Talla smashed the cage door in Jacob’s head. Solo then fell out of the ring to win.

Jimmy attacked Mateo after the match. Mateo and Loa are locked in the cage with Fatu and Fatu destroys them. Fatu laid out both of them with a Moonsault from the top of the cage!

Up next is the Intercontinental Championship match. AJ Styles paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero as he came out in Eddie’s gear and car. Dirty Dom took out his shoe and hit AJ in the head to put him away. He hit the Frog Splash for the win.

Stephanie McMahon came out and announced Night 2 attendance: 60,561. Combined attendance for both nights is 113,722.
Up next is the main event of the evening and it is a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship. King of the Ring Cody Rhodes makes his way out first, followed by WWE Champion John Cena, who brought back his babyface entrance features.
The match begins and Cena and Rhodes hug and then begin fighting! Cody slammed Cena on top of steel ring steps. Cena picked up the steps and threw them at Cody outside the ring. Cody attacks Cena with a Steel Chair. Cena hits Cody with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and goes for the AA, but Cody counters and crowd booes. Cody hits the Cody Cutter and goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out.
Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment, but Cody kicks out. Cody hits a Disaster Kick and another Cody Cutter. Cody goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out again. Cody hits Cena with a Piledriver and goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out. Cena suddenly hits another AA and both men are down.
After exchanging punches and kicks, Cody hits Cena with the pop-up powerbomb! Cena locks in the STF, but Cody breaks it by dragging himself and choking Cena with the bottom rope. Cena hits Cody in the head with a microphone. Cena hits Cody with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb on the floor! Cena and Cody are on top of the announce table and puts Cody through the second announce table with the AA! Cena drags Cody into the ring and goes for the cover, but Cody kicks out.
Cody hits the Cross Rhodes and goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out! Cena hits Cody with a Leg Drop from the top rope, followed by an AA, but Cody still kicks out!
Cena sets up a table in the ring, but Cody flips it and hits a DDT. Cody sets up the table in the corner. Cena and Cody are now brawling in the crowded area and they go underneath the stage. They come out of the elevator shaft in the entrance area with Cody on Cena’s shoulders. Cena hits an AA on the ramp! Cena picks up Cody on his shoulders again and walks all the way to the ring. Cena is tired and Cody took advantage and put Cena through the table. Cody hits a Cross Rhodes, but Cena kicks out! Cody is shocked.
Cody hits Cena in the face with a steel chair. Cody takes down the bottom rope and hits Cena in the head with the turnbuckle pipe. Cody does it again and fans boo Cody. Cody goes to hit again, but Cena counters and locks in the STF with the bottom rope, but Cody counters. Cody hits the trifecta of Cross Rhodes, but Cena still kicked out! Cody cannot believe it!
Rhodes picks up the WWE Title and goes to hit Cena, but Cena counters and hits 2 AAs. Cena then hits a Super AA from the second rope and goes for the cover, but Cody kicks out! Fans are chanting “this is awesome.” Cena sets up a table in the ring and is looking to hit another Super Attitude Adjustment, but Cody fights back and hits a Cody Cutter from the top rope through the table. Cody salutes Cena and hits the Cross Rhodes for the win.

In an emotional scene after the match, Cena put over Rhodes. Brock Lesnar then returned to WWE after 2 years and laid out Cena with an F5!
