• More On WrestleMania 43 Taking Place In Saudi Arabia
WrestleMania is heading to new territory. Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, announced in a Snapchat video that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027, marking the first time the event will be held outside of North America.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp quickly reached out to WWE for confirmation, but the company has yet to comment. One WWE higher-up told Fightful that “where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” hinting that Triple H’s recent remarks about “inspiring change” could have been tied to this looming announcement.
PWInsider added that an Arabic-language press release confirming the news briefly went live before being pulled. English-speaking outlets never received it, but sources close to the situation confirmed it existed.
WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia has long included discussions about hosting a WrestleMania. Officials in the Kingdom have pushed for it since the partnership began in 2018, and earlier this year Fightful reported that plans were in motion, with ideas ranging from a traditional WrestleMania to a potential “Super WrestleMania” branding.
Internally, WWE has also explored branding strategies like “Wrestlepalooza” to diversify its biggest events, generate new site fees, and attract bids from global locations. That effort appears to line up with Saudi’s ambitions to secure a WrestleMania.
Those familiar with the situation believe an official announcement is coming this week, possibly Friday in Las Vegas. The timing would coincide with TKO’s promotion of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford superfight in the city, an event backed by Riyadh Season.
• Wrestling World Reacts To Charlie Kirk Being Shot Dead
Conservative activist Charlie Kirk (age 31) has died after being shot during an event at Utah Valley University. The incident happened just after noon when a gunman fired from a nearby building, striking Kirk in the neck as he addressed students.
Below is the extremely graphic video (watch at your own risk):
Panic spread through the crowd as security rushed him from the stage, and authorities later confirmed a suspect was taken into custody. Kirk was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting has triggered a wave of reactions across the country, with leaders from both political parties condemning the violence and calling for unity.
U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that Charlie Kirk has died. You can read Trump’s statement below:
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
The news even drew attention from the wrestling world. You can read statements below:
Ken Shamrock: Charlie Kirk has just been shot on a college campus. HATE IS ON FULL DISPLAY TODAY.
Paul Roma: I hope and pray for Charlie Kirk that he is ok.
Kizarny: I am not a religious man but to try and kill a person like this, who spends his time intelligently debating key issues, is cowardly and disgusting. I personally try to spend more time being a bad man doing good things than a good man doing bad things. If you laugh at this then you need to take a deep look at yourself… This is evil should be a common sense non partizan stance. The party of joy and inclusivity my a$$.
Conrad Thompson: Man, this is just awful. We gotta be better, together, somehow. I don’t know how, but I know this ain’t it.
Eva Marie: So sad RIP @charliekirk11
Kale Dixon: Praying for Charlie Kirk right now. This world needs the love of God more than ever right now
Declan James McMahon (son of Shane McMahon): Pray for Charlie Kirk
