WWE announced last week that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. This move means independent promotions will likely miss out on running their usual shows during WrestleMania week in the United States.

Many indy promotions and wrestlers benefit from WrestleMania week every year, as it’s the biggest week in pro wrestling and draws fans from around the world. Losing that opportunity in 2027 could mean fewer bookings, smaller crowds and less exposure for independent talent during what is usually their most profitable weekend of the year.

This has led to many fans demanding a huge show from Tony Khan in 2027 to capitalize on WrestleMania not being held in the US.

While speaking on the AEW All Out Media Call today, Tony Khan said that he’s planning a major Revolution event in Spring 2027.

“I have lot of interest in it and I can promise we’re gonna run a huge event in the spring of 2027. I think spring 2027 is gonna be a great time for AEW.

There’s gonna be a huge pay-per-view for sure, and one pay-per-view I can tell you is gonna be huge in spring 2027, that has done huge things for us in AEW and I think some really historic things in pro-wrestling is AEW Revolution. We’ll have a huge Revolution.

People ask about the spring of 2027, I promise we’ll have a huge AEW Revolution and a lot of big plans for then.

And obviously very focused right now on 2025, that’s looking very far ahead, but there’s definitely some potential for us to do big things in spring of 2027.”

It is possible that AEW holds a stadium show in 2027, which would allow a lot of promotions to organise events they usually do during WrestleMania week.
