• Jazmyn Nyx Rejected WWE’s Improved Deal As Well – New Salary Offer Revealed
Jazmyn Nyx was written off WWE programming on last week’s NXT. The next day, she announced her departure from the company after the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement over her salary.
Fightful Select reported that WWE offered the former Fatal Influence member a $75,000 deal. She rejected it, saying the amount wouldn’t “cut it” for her as she was hoping for an amount between 80 to 150 grand.
In an update, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that WWE later offered Nyx an improved deal, which would see her earning $98,000 annually, but Nyx turned down that deal as well.
Sean Ross Sapp added that the contract would ‘start out’ at what they initially offered and likely escalate. He noted that the company is certainly willing to let talent walk and replace them, especially anyone not at the top level.
In a recent Q/A with fans on Snapchat, Jazmyn Nyx said she would be open to returning to WWE if she got an improved offer.
“100% I would. It was a really hard decision for me and I didn’t want my experience to end. I loved wrestling and had so much fun training and learning from the best.”
• WWE Changes Main Roster Call-Up Strategy For NXT Stars
Over the last year, WWE has shifted the way it handles talent call-ups from NXT to the main roster, moving away from some of the more rigid methods used in the past.
In the Vince McMahon era, call-ups often meant talent were pulled straight from NXT with little warning, which sometimes left the brand struggling creatively. Under the current approach, the process has been kept far more flexible.
According to Fightful Select, call-ups are now being managed more discreetly and are no longer tied to a strict “off NXT TV, onto the main roster” formula. Instead, performers who are called up can often continue working NXT television while adjusting to the main roster schedule, which is now considered less demanding than in years past.
A Performance Center source told Fightful that WWE sees value in ensuring there are experienced veterans with television backgrounds present in both the Performance Center and on NXT programming. In some cases, talent have been brought into NXT without immediate main roster plans, with the intent of having them complete a full NXT run first.
This change in philosophy shows WWE’s renewed focus on balancing main roster needs with NXT’s continued growth as both a developmental system and a brand in its own right.
• Triple H & The McMahons Visit White House To Support Donald Trump’s New Executive Order (Video)
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, alongside his wife Stephanie McMahon and mother-in-law Linda McMahon, visited the White House to support U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at increasing the use of artificial intelligence in childhood cancer research.
During the visit, Stephanie gave a powerful speech where she remembered WWE superfan Connor “The Crusher” Michalek, whose fight against cancer inspired WWE’s Connor’s Cure foundation.
“You could tell he was sick. He had a big scar up the back of his neck and a lump on his head, but you’d never know it from his personality. He didn’t want to hug me because he gave choke-out hugs, and he even booed his favorite nurse when she came to give his chemo.
I kissed him goodbye on his soft little cheek, and when he looked back at me, I made an unspoken promise to fight for him and kids just like him. Kids shouldn’t even know what cancer is, let alone have to face it. If your child was diagnosed with cancer, you wouldn’t care what party their doctor belonged to. You would just want the best.”
