SmackDown Results – Randy Orton Gets Pinned In The Main Event

– Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicked off tonight’s SmackDown and was immediately interrupted by Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and “Big” Bronson Reed of The Vision. Randy Orton showed up to back up Cody. Heyman said he’s here for Orton, which is also the reason why The Vision targeted Cody on last week’s SmackDown – to get Orton’s attention. Heyman said after Orton and Rhodes lose to The Vision tonight, Orton is going to look at Cody and question this is the WWE Champion? Orton will think he can do so much better as the Undisputed Champion. Heyman left after saying Orton and Cody’s partnership can’t last. Orton and Rhodes were left thinking if Heyman is right.

– The Miz asked Carmelo Hayes to explain his actions from last week. Carmelo said there’s nothing to explain – they are done.

– Carmelo Hayes answered Sami Zayn’s U.S. Title open challenge once again. Carmelo said no one is holding him back this time and he’s at his best. The Miz showed up from behind and laid out Hayes with a Skull Crushing Finale on the stage. The tag team run of Melo Don’t Miz is officially over. Aleister Black came out and accepted the open challenge.

– Sami Zayn (c) def. Aleister Black to retain the United States Championship after Damian Priest showed up, which distracted Black

After the match, Priest put Black through the announce table with a Razor’s Edge.

– Chelsea Green tried to hire Sol Ruca and Zaria for her Secret Hervice, but they are not interested. This led to a tag team match being set up.

– ZaRuca (Zaria and NXT Women’s North American Champion & WWE Women’s Speed Champion Sol Ruca) def. Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre

Sol pinned Chelsea. After the match, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were interviewed by Cathy Kelley and were asked about ZaRuca’s victory. Charlotte said they looked impressive. Alexa said they better be ready when they face the champs.

– Cody Rhodes met Randy Orton in the locker room to discuss Paul Heyman’s comments from earlier tonight. Orton said who cares what Heyman says. Cody said he has Randy’s back.

– Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer signed the contract for their Crown Jewel match. Women’s United States Champion Giulia attacked Tiffany. Kiana James then proposed that Stephanie should join them and they’ll help her become the Women’s Crown Jewel Champion. Tiffany went after Kiana. Stephanie attacked Giulia, but Giulia managed to escape. It’s possible that Tiffany and Giulia will feud after Crown Jewel.

– Jacob Fatu said he is tired of people lying. Fatu said he’s going to the top and put Drew McIntyre on notice.

– Rey Fenix and Je’Von Evans def. Loz Garza (Angel and Berto)

– Damian Priest challenged Aleister Black to a Last Man Standing match on next week’s SmackDown. Kit Wilson confronted Priest and Priest pushed his wheelchair away.

– Solo Sikoa said there’s a monster inside Talla Tonga and he wants Talla to bring it out. Sikoa said there’s something missing in My Family Tree. Once Solo finds that missing part, everyone is on notice. This looked like a tease for the return of Tama Tonga, who has been out of action since the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41 due to an injury.

– The Street Profits will face Wyatt Sicks for the WWE Tag Team Titles on next week’s SmackDown.

– The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed) def. Legacy (Randy Orton and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes)

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins interfered in the match and hit Orton with a Stomp. Reed then hit the Tsunami and pinned The Legend Killer.

After the match, Rollins was looking to attack Rhodes. Heyman tried to stop him, but Seth didn’t listen. Seth went for the stomp, but Cody countered and laid out his Crown Jewel opponent with a Cross Rhodes to end the show.
