The Undertaker returned for revenge against Brock Lesnar in the summer of 2015, a year after The Beast Incarnate ended his legendary Streak at WrestleMania 30.
The two icons collided at SummerSlam, where The Phenom got the win. They then had a rematch inside Hell in a Cell a few months later.
The ending to the match saw The Undertaker losing after Lesnar hit him with a low blow followed by an F5. After the match, The Wyatt Family showed up to carry Taker away.
While speaking on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley revealed that he pitched the finish of the match and got heat for it.
“Brock tells me, ‘We have nothing for the finish.’ Even Taker. Nobody had anything. And he’s like, ‘You got anything?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’ve got something.’ I said, ‘It’s only been done once, and it’s been done by me, but it hasn’t been seen on the world stage of the WWE.’
And I laid out the idea to them. And Brock gets up and he walks away. I go, ‘Where you going?’ He goes, ‘I’m going to Vince.’ Half hour later, I see Brock, ‘Thanks Bubba, that’s what we’re doing tonight.’
I’m happy that they liked my idea. Brock spoke to Taker, he liked the idea. They’re gonna run with it. They executed it, it worked great. Before the pay-per-view had started, Vince walks by me, we just happened to be in the same place at the same time, he stops, looks at me, shakes my hand, and he goes, ‘Thank you very much for that finish.’ ‘No problem boss, you got it.’
I got credit for it. And I got heat for it. Massive f**king heat for it. Why? I don’t know. But none of the top dog producers in the company came up with that idea for those two main eventers.
I can’t understand why I would get heat for just coming up with a good idea when one of the guys in the match asked me for it, and oh, by the way, The Undertaker liked it also. Now you’re all mad at me because I came up with a good idea?’”
