• Rusev Reveals If He Slept With Anyone After Breaking Up With Lana
Rusev and Lana (CJ Perry) arrived on the WWE main roster as an impressive wrestler/manager pairing in 2014 and a few years later, they tied the knot. They were together for a decent amount of time until they separated in late 2023.
The couple reunited in mid 2024 and renewed their vows earlier this year.
On the first episode of Lana’s Identity Crisis podcast, Rusev was asked if he saw other women after his split with Lana. Here’s what The Bulgarian Brute said:
“I went on a few dates, yeah. I just wanted to see what kind of a conversation I can have with another female. It doesn’t have to be sleeping or anything like that. I just wanted to talk.”
• “You couldn’t do that character now because the Internet knows the truth” – Triple H
The internet has affected pro wrestling in many ways. Fans now know more about what happens behind the scenes than they did in previous eras.
In an interview with the All-In Podcast, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H talked about how booking has become difficult in modern times due to the internet. Here’s what he said:
“One of the favourite parts of my job is to sit down in a room with talent and say ‘where do we wanna go with you? How do we wanna get there?’ It’s not the conversation of ‘I wanna be the champion,’ everybody does. What is your story and how do we tell it, and who here of the other talent can have a story that goes against your arc to combine with their arc to tell a great story?
Today’s world is different. You go back 40-50 years, Ivan Koloff was a Canadian guy who played a Russian because we were in the middle of a Cold War, but you couldn’t do that character now because the internet would go ‘he’s from Canada.’ They know the truth.
Today you have to sort of blend who you are in real life with the character you play and blur this line of the fourth wall of ‘was that real, do these guys really not like each other?’
While you’re putting it together backstage we’re all agreeing on where we wanna go, and then we tell this story where people can not tell what is real and what is fantasy, and that’s when it gets magical.”
• RAW Star Doesn’t Believe John Cena’s Retirement Will Be Permanent
John Cena is set to retire at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., on December 13. His final opponent will be determined through a 16-man “Last Time Is Now” tournament.
The 17-time World Champion has four appearances left, two on RAW, one at Survivor Series: WarGames and then his final match.
Cena’s former rival Rusev, who is a part of the tournament, recently spoke with CBS Sports about the retirement and said he doesn’t believe that The GOAT will stay away from the ring forever.
“I don’t believe it. I’m not holding my breath. I love John and this may be his last match of this century or whatnot, but at some point I want to see him back, whenever that is.”
Pro wrestling has seen many legends come out of retirement over the years, some for dream matches, others for money. The list includes names like Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ric Flair.
While no one knows what the future holds, Cena has said that he’s a man of his word and will never compete in the ring again after next month.
