Triple H kicked off tonight’s RAW in Boston and said everybody here can agree on one thing – John Cena is the greatest of all time. Cena came out and said his goal is to leave this business better than he found it. Cena then revealed that on his final night in WWE on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE main roster superstars will host exhibition matches for NXT wrestlers, to showcase the future of this company.
The 17-time World Champion began thanking fans and got interrupted by WWE Intercontinental & AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio. Dirty Dom complained to Triple H about his “dead beat dad” Rey Mysterio interrupting him last week. Dom said he interrupts old men celebrations.
Fans booed Dom and Cena tried to fix that. Dom told Cena to only speak when he’s spoken to, or he’ll drop him. Cena said “fine speech” and that Dom need to understand who he’s talking to – this is John Cena and this is Boston, which means he is invincible tonight and Dominik will lose if he keeps running his mouth. Cena advised Dominik to walk away.
Dominik said he’s not even at his peak yet and he’s better than Cena ever was, and he would beat Cena on any night in any era. Fans chant “you f**ked up” and Triple H said he agrees with them.
Triple H said right now looks like one hell of a time. Triple H announced Dominik Mysterio vs. John Cena for the Intercontinental Championship right here, right now! HHH called out a referee.
Dominik attacked Cena during the ring introduction. During the match, Dominik tried to pull an Eddie Guerrero trick with a steel chair, but Cena did the same, and the plan failed.
The referee got knocked out accidentally and Cena made Dom tap out to the STF, but the match obviously didn’t end there. Dominik tried to hit Cena with his title, but Cena ducked and hit the Attitude Adjustment! A new referee ran out to count the pin, but Dominik eventually kicked out.
