• AJ Lee Says CM Punk Went Off-Script & Started Hitting On Her In 2012
AJ Lee and CM Punk’s on-screen and off-screen relationship has been well documented. The two were involved in a romantic WWE storyline in 2012 and got married two years later.
Speaking on the “What’s Your Story?” podcast with Stephanie McMahon, AJ shared a memorable moment from their time in WWE, revealing how Punk went off-script to protect her during a live backstage segment.
“Early on, I think he respected me. In NXT, he was one of the announcers and everyone else would sh*t on us, he would always be like, ‘…but AJ’s cool.’ He was always putting me over, and I think he just knew I always loved wrestling.
When we did the storyline together, he was meant to say something really mean to me in one of the backstages that was going on live, and it was live, but he didn’t say the mean thing.
He just hit on me or something. He wasn’t supposed to. I was like, ‘that was so cool.’ It was not in the script, but he took care of me, so I thought that was really, really nice.”

The GOAT will face the winner of The Last Time Is Now Tournament at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C.
According to WBD’s December schedule, AEW has made an adjustment to avoid a clash with Cena’s final bout. AEW Collision, normally airing at 8 PM ET, will instead air at 4:30 PM ET on December 13, while Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to begin at 7 PM ET.
