• Top WWE Star Returning For WrestleMania 42 Match
After CM Punk defeated Bron Breakker to retain the World Heavyweight Championship on the January 5th edition of RAW, many fans expected Breakker to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match to earn a rematch against Punk for the World Title at WrestleMania 42.
However, a masked man attacked Breakker during his way to the ring during the Royal Rumble, hitting Bron with a Curb Stomp on the floor. After this, Oba Femi eliminated Breakker in just a few seconds.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the belief backstage in WWE is that Rollins will be ready for WrestleMania 42 and will return to face Breakker in a singles match.
Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turned their backs on Rollins on the RAW after Crown Jewel 2025. They attacked Rollins, and The Visionary was kicked out of The Vision. This was done because Rollins suffered a legitimate shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes.
• What WWE Sources Are Saying About AJ Styles’ Future
The wrestling world is currently in a state of high alert as AJ Styles transitions into the next chapter of his career. While his tenure as a full-time WWE Superstar has reached its end, the door to the ring isn’t completely shut.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, a significant number of internal WWE sources are convinced that Styles will compete again in some capacity. While he has stepped away from the grueling weekly schedule, the general feeling behind the scenes is that his retirement is far from absolute.
This matches the “never say never” stance Styles took during his appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, where he intentionally left the future of his in-ring career open to interpretation.
When Stephanie asked AJ why he didn’t leave his gloves in the ring, Styles replied:
“I don’t know. Never say never, right? That’s the saying. I think everybody’s allowed at least once to come out of retirement. Not saying that I’ll do it anytime soon. I’m just saying that.
I mean, what if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once, right? And you never know. There’ll be a time where the gloves will never go back on, and it may be now, but we’ll see.
I never thought I would want my kids to wrestle. But it’s way different than it’s ever been, and a lot better than it’s ever been when it comes to professional wrestling. It’s done right at this point. So I’d be happy if they wrestle. My second oldest (son), I’m working with him now, so he’s in it.”
Despite the heavy rumors, The Phenomenal One is keeping his cards close to his chest. Fightful Select further noted that almost no one – including high-level contacts in both WWE and AEW – actually knows what his specific next move will be.
Whether it’s a coaching role, a final run in another promotion, or just a long break before a special attraction return, Styles has managed to keep his peers and the industry at large guessing as he enjoys his newfound freedom.
