• Hall Of Famer Says Last WWE Run Felt Incomplete & Weird
During an interview with The Toronto Sun, Hall of Famer Lita talked about her 2023 WWE run, where she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Becky Lynch and then competed in a 6-woman tag team match at WrestleMania 39.
This run ended on the April 10, 2023 episode of RAW. On that night, she was scheduled to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles along with Becky against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, Lita was attacked before the match and that was the end of her run.
Lita said this run felt incomplete and weird due to how it ended:
“I was really happy to have the singles match with Becky, and then to be able to get in there with Trish and Becky and go against Damage CTRL was pretty awesome. I feel very satisfied in that.
But it was a little weird the way it ended. You know, I had this really fun celebratory match at WrestleMania, and then the next thing I know they’re like, ‘Oh, by the way, you’re just going to be laying on the ground and we don’t need you anymore.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’
So it felt complete, and then it didn’t, you know… just the way things kind of ended.
Am I’m still satisfied with all I’ve accomplished, and even just the stuff I’ve been able to do post full-time run? Absolutely. But yeah, I wouldn’t rule it out if the right opportunity came, because I still feel really good and there’s so much talent out there. It’s always fun to mix it up with the current roster.”
• WWE Star Was Very Frustrated & Angry In AEW
During his appearance on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast, WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley revealed that Powerhouse Hobbs (now known as Royce Keys in WWE) was very frustrated and angry in All Elite Wrestling:
“I believe that with the right structure, he’ll come along great. I had his matches when he used to come to WWE as an extra, and I worked with him and helped him. He’s always given me credit for that. And the great thing about it is now that he’s under WWE’s umbrella, he’ll be able to get that structure that he needs.
He was very frustrated and very angry at times, I remember talking with him because he didn’t feel like he got that with AEW. And now that he’s in WWE, it might be a different story.
There are certain people that come from AEW and go to WWE that feel more content, and they feel like they’re in a place where they should be to learn what they need to do to take their careers to the next level. And he’s done that, and he’s going to do that.”
As previously noted, Rikishi advised Hobbs to leave AEW for WWE.
