• John Cena Reveals His Originally Planned Opponent For Crown Jewel 2025

John Cena revealed on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast that he was originally scheduled to face Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel 2025. However, after the Brock Lesnar match at Wrestlepalooza received negative fan reaction, WWE needed a feel good moment in the retirement tour.

Because of that, the decision was made to have Cena face AJ Styles instead of McIntyre. Here’s what the 17-time World Champion said:

“AJ was supposed to be Drew. We pivoted. You want to have a feel good moment because they were listening to the data points. They do. It’s real. You have the Brock moment — people are pi$$ed off. You have the AJ moment and things are great.”

• Logan Paul vs. Bad Bunny Would Be The Greatest WWE Match Of All Time, Says WWE Wrestler

Before the Super Bowl, Logan Paul was asked if he’s excited about Bad Bunny’s halftime show performance. Logan said “no” and walked away. On his Impaulsive podcast, Logan said he planted seeds for a potential WWE match against Bad Bunny with his answer:

“Bad Bunny is a world renowned superstar. He also can be a WWE Superstar when he wants, he’s a good wrestler.

There have been talks about maybe us wrestling, it’s been floated around, and I’ve been candid about the fact that I would love to do it. I think it would be the greatest WWE match of all time.

Any time I’m asked about Bad Bunny, I think that in the back of my mind, so it’s like to set that up. When I’m asked if I’m excited about the halftime show, saying ‘no’, one word, and it’s like okay, now people are talking about it.”

Bad Bunny last wrestled in WWE at Backlash 2023, where he defeated Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight.

• Kevin Nash Apologizes For His Comments About RAW Wrestler

On his Kliq This podcast, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash commended 21-year-old RAW wrestler Je’Von Evans for his athletic ability and striking, but criticized his lighthearted presentation as being “too Mr. Bojangles” and lacking edge, suggesting he show more grit.

The comments drew swift backlash online, with fans labeling them racially insensitive and pointing to historical stereotypes associated with Bill “Bojangles” Robinson.

Nash ended up issuing an apology:

“How often have you heard the term Uncle Tom? Most likely, it was used in a degrading way. If you’ve actually read the literature, Uncle Tom was whipped to death for helping free two female slaves.

I apologize for the use of the term Mr Bogangles, it was in poor taste and obviously offensive. I just see talent being pushed in a direction that I disagree with.

He should be the male version of Sol Ruca. More contemporary than urban. It’s funny how I’m usually the only person who pays attention to the development of black talent.”
